Safety in the value chain
Fluvius regards safety as a shared responsibility throughout the entire value chain. In addition to our own staff, we also actively involve contractors, suppliers and other partners in our approach to safety. Through clear safety regulations, training and systematic collaboration, we promote safe behaviour on all construction sites and across all our activities.
We set out these expectations in contractual agreements and in the code of conduct for suppliers. These clearly state that partners must comply with legislation on health, safety and the environment. In this way, we work together to ensure safe working conditions and reliable networks for everyone.
Training
Fluvius also invests in training and development for partners in the value chain, such as contractors. Through the Fluvius Academy, we make part of our training programme available to partners. The focus here is on technical knowledge, safety and the correct execution of works.
We also organise targeted training courses, workshops and online learning programmes to share knowledge and ensure we are all on the same page. In this way, all parties involved work to the same quality and safety standards. Fluvius thereby strengthens expertise across the entire value chain and contributes to safe, reliable and future-proof networks.
Code of Conduct for Suppliers
Fluvius expects all suppliers, contractors and service providers to act in accordance with clear agreements regarding ethics, social responsibility and care for the environment. These expectations are set out in the Code of Conduct for Suppliers.
The code includes provisions on human rights, labour standards, health and safety, environmental protection and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. By applying this Code of Conduct and extending it to subcontractors, Fluvius embeds responsible business practices throughout the entire value chain.
EVA Coaching
Through EVA Coaching, Fluvius supports contractors in their ongoing development in the areas of quality and safety. Using this tool, we collect and organise observations made on site relating to skills, collaboration, safety and execution. The focus is not merely on assessment, but on dialogue and coaching. Insights gained from EVA Coaching form the basis for targeted discussions, course correction and continuous improvement. In this way, together with our contractors, we encourage safe, high-quality and forward-looking working practices.
Commitment to cooperation
Fluvius and its contractors are committed to working together respectfully, reliably and as equals. We do this through a joint commitment to collaboration, which is based on three core principles: treating one another with respect, honouring agreements and working together in a way that benefits everyone. In doing so, we set out our mutual expectations and place collaboration at the heart of our work. Our aim: to work safely, to a high standard and with a focus on the customer, in partnership with contractors throughout Flanders.
