Our vision says it all: due to climate change, Flanders must make its energy use more sustainable and prepare for sometimes drastic weather changes. All of us together need to bring about both the energy transition and climate adaptation.
As a grid company, Fluvius wants to play an active role in these changes. Our approach in this regard is to build the 'grids for tomorrow', which sustainably connect the whole of Flanders.
Our strategy consists of four different strategic pillars. Each pillar is intended to prepare our company and our services to realise our vision.
1. Achieving more together
Fluvius is fully committed to helping bring about the energy transition and climate adaptation, but of course we cannot do it all alone. On the one hand, we will significantly enhance cooperation with our existing partners. For example, materials and energy suppliers, contractors, local administrations, regulators and other utilities.
We also need to work more actively with new partners, such as technology partners, research institutions and innovative projects. Only together can we achieve our goals.
2. Focus on forward-looking grids and systems
To bring about the energy transition and climate adaptation, we are building the 'grids for tomorrow'.
For instance, we are working on substantially reinforcing our current electricity grids, to meet the supply of more electric vehicles, heat pumps, solar panels and wind turbines. At the same time, we are converting our public lighting to energy-efficient LEDs, upgrading our sewerage grids, working on the future vision for our gas grids, playing a key role in building numerous heating grids in Flanders and working hard on a future-oriented water policy.
Stronger grids are also smarter. This is why we are simultaneously putting our efforts into digitalisation and innovation. The 'smart', digital control of our energy consumption and production ensure more targeted investments and many more opportunities for all our customers and partners.

3. Customer-centric
Fluvius aims to provide smooth, high-performance and reliable services to all customers. They quite rightly have very firm preferences and expectations that we want to meet as much as possible. We aim for the highest possible customer satisfaction. This is by further fine-tuning our work processes and providing our employees with all the support they need to provide the best service to customers. We also always start from our customers' expectations. In this way, we aim for a customer experience that is as consistent and positive as possible in every customer contact, regardless of the process, channel or employee.
4. Employee-centric
People play a key role in everything we do.
